My Forty-plus Years on Bellport Bay

Whenever anyone asks me where I'm from, I respond:
"I am from Brookhaven, Long Island, on Bellport Bay."
Brookhaven Hamlet and the Village of Bellport constitute a cohesive community connected by Bellport Bay. I always felt blessed to have grown up in this special place on Long Island's South Shore.
